The Cybersecurity Department was established pursuant to Royal Order No. 5232, dated 24/2/1441 AH (2014), which stipulates the establishment of an independent department concerned with cybersecurity. Decision No. 41/057/5233 of the University of Hafr Al-Batin President dated 1441 AH (2014) established the department. The department is responsible for enhancing cybersecurity, protecting the university's technical assets, and managing potential cybersecurity risks to ensure the continuity of the university's educational, research, and administrative operations.
