The Medical and Applied Research Center at the University of Hafr Al Batin was established in 2024, pursuant to Decision No. (45/075/5492) dated 23/3/1445 AH, to be the entity responsible for research in the Hafr Al Batin governorate and its affiliated cities. The establishment of the center reflects the University of Hafr Al Batin's commitment to organizing and activating the role of scientific research across various fields to develop the health sector.

The center aims, in line with the goals of the University of Hafr Al Batin, to advance the research level by establishing its own research projects and programs. This supports and enhances the university's strategic objectives to develop capabilities and improve the quality of scientific research for students, staff, and collaborating entities.

The center also strives to align with and keep up with strategic plans and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 for national development. Additionally, it dedicates efforts to pursuing and supporting scientific research objectives to improve health, prevent and treat diseases, and understand the functions of humans and animals.​
